The face of Mendenhall Glacier rises from the frozen surface of Mendenhall Lake, Tongass Forest. Seemingly frozen in time, an iceberg and the slabs of ice broken away by the force of its eruption from the lake below provide evidence that all is not still in this winter wonderland.
